Non 12 Step Rehab

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Alternative drug rehab programs are generally the most effect in terms of fully getting a person either off of drugs or alcohol. Traditional types of rehabs like 12 step programs or psychiatric based programs that believe addiction is an incurable disease and must be “treated” with anti-depressants, though been around for ages, do not provide the highest success rate. The most effective type of rehab program is a non 12 step rehab facility.

A non 12 step drug rehab uses alternative methods which are proven to be effective in overcoming drug or alcohol addiction. They do not use group counseling or group therapy and provide an individualized type of setting. It is also nice to know that these programs offer cognitive behavioral therapy and a social education model which helps a person reintegrate back into society with job skills and life skills. Not to mention a non 12 step rehab is generally longer termed which is also very important for an effective drug rehab.

Remember that non traditional programs are always more effective than traditional rehabs. A non 12 step inpatient drug rehab is going to be the best type of program that either you or a loved one who finds themselves addicted to drugs and alcohol. Also the longer the program the better so make sure that the treatment facility provides long term drug rehabs.

Drug And Alcohol Rehabilitation

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Alcohol abuse is one of the hardest addictions to overcome for several reasons. The first obstacle to overcoming alcoholism is safely getting off the alcohol in a medial setting like a detox. A person who is a severe alcoholic must not try to cold turkey and quit drinking one day because this can lead to life threatening medical problems, seizures, and or heart problems. In beer commercials and vodka ads they don’t show how addictive and dangerous alcohol, instead they make drinking looking glamorous and that everyone is doing it, especially attractive people.

I would challenge a person to tour a drug rehab facility that does not think alcohol addiction is horrible. They need to go watch a person withdraw off of alcohol and see them shake profusely, or maybe witness somebody in a medical detox. This is what really goes on when a person falls helplessly addicted to alcoholism which for obvious reasons never gets publicized because of alcohol companies covering it up. Finding an effective alcohol rehab is very important to a person’s success in recovering.

Long term drug rehab or alcohol rehabilitation is very important for a person who is looking for help. Making sure you find a program that is long enough and also provides extensive medical attention is vital. Most people don’t realize the amount of damage to the body physically which alcohol causes. This requires a lot of medical help along with a proper health program that only few alcohol rehabs provide.

Long Term Residential Centers

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

A residential facility is usually more effective then sending a person to meetings or counseling with an addictions specialist. Not to mention a long term drug rehab is always more successful as well. The longer the treatment program the better chance a person has in his or her recovery. Don’t be fooled by traditional treatment programs that say relapse is a part of recovery. A program that offers a success rate should not include relapse as a part of recovery or include that in there success rate. Remember that longer termed alternative based programs are always better.

Some of the residential facilities offer a halfway house or some type of sober living. These are generally a recipe for disaster. The reason is that these people living in these unsecured houses are fresh out of a drug rehabilitation program and have not been able to use there newly learned skills in the real world. Instead they are thrown together with people who like them are too green for the outside world and this can lead to disaster. Many times there are more drugs and alcohol in a halfway house than out on the street.

Remember that an inpatient drug rehab is usually a better solution than meetings and that a long term facility is even better. Most of these types of programs offer family counseling and education so that you, as a family, will be kept updated of your loved ones progress through the program. Being on the same page as the treatment steps is very important to a successful recovery.

Inpatient Rehab Facility

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Residential drug rehabs are more effective than going to see a counselor or attending meetings while living at home for several reasons. People who find themselves suffering from drug or alcohol addiction do not always want to enroll into an inpatient drug rehab. This is generally because they are afraid of leaving home or still are not ready to give up the drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately the person that needs the help the most does not always know what is best. That is why most families take it upon themselves to find the most effective type of rehabilitation program which is not always the easiest.

An inpatient rehab is always better if they offer some type of long term program. A facility that focuses on a holistic type of treatment rather than a program that shovels more drugs to replace the addiction problem is always more effective because the holistic type of treatment gets to the underlying issues. Putting a person on more drugs only masks whatever problems that lay underneath which are the cause of the drug or alcohol addiction.

In researching various types of drug rehab programs remember that an inpatient facility is generally the best. Finding a holistic drug rehab also increases the chances of recovery because not only does it focus on health but allows for the counseling to stick.

Psychiatry The Pharmaceutical Industry And The FDA

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Psychiatric drugs are now becoming more dangerous than street drugs per many medical physicians. Most of these psychotropic medications have never gone through stringent testing, instead the Food and Drug Administration have allowed for the pharmaceutical to push more drugs on society. The unfortunate thing is the FDA, Psychiatry, and Pharmaceutical Industry are all working together as a team raking in billions of dollars at the hands of uninformed patients who think there is something wrong with them.

Well many organizations have had enough. Many rehabilitation programs offer drug rehab to people who have become addicted to a drug prescribed to them by a physician. Ritalin, Xanax, Oxycontin, and Methadone are not only causing people to have to enter a drug rehab program, but also bringing people to their death because of the toxic levels. It’s very unfortunate because these pharma companies are making billions of dollars and only have to pay out millions of dollars for law suits. These are a drop in the bucket for a company like Eli Lilly or Merk.

Prescription drug addiction is not an easy addiction to overcome. It can be one of the hardest addictions to overcome because the detox can be too physically enduring. A quality long term drug rehab is usually the most effective type of treatment because it gives time for detox, counseling and life skills therapy. One of the most effectives form of rehab is a California drug treatment because not only is it holistic but also set in a residential setting. These are all vital tools to eliminate prescription drug addiction.

Intensive Long Term Care

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Intensive long term care is essential for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Outpatient treatment is not always effective because a person is still in his or her environment. Trying to find one of these long term drug rehabs is sometimes hard but not impossible. Whether a person is willing to get help or not should not persuade your decisions in what you think will ultimately help this addicted individual free themselves. Drug and alcohol addiction is like being a slave because all your decisions are usually revolved around getting your next fix or drink.

A long term drug rehab should always provide detox, counseling and life skills therapy to prepare a person for their road to recovery. Without specific life skills a person a person is vulnerable to certain environment triggers that can cause relapse. It is also important for person to be away from home and these environmental triggers which will reduce a persons restimulators. This is vital for recovery for treatment to be effective.

Alcohol and drug treatment is not something that is impossible to find. Inpatient and long term treatment is also something that is not impossible to find. Many drug rehabs provide alternative care which would include programs like longer termed programs and holistic based programs. Holistic drug rehabs are also effective when treating hard core addictions like alcoholism, opiates, cocaine, crack and methamphetamine.

Opiate Addiction

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Opiate addiction is one of the hardest addictions to overcome. Many treatment facilities find that their program does not accept people who are addicted to opiates because of the tough withdraw and medical liabilities. Especially some pharmaceutical and prescription drugs are even more dangerous than street sold opiates like heroin. Methadone is one of the hardest drugs for a person to overcome because of the extreme physical addiction that is caused. Most people who try Methadone clinics are lied to about how long they will be on Methadone only to find out years later that trying to quit their opiate addiction without Methadone would have been much easier.

Suboxone is another drug that is used to help people from opiate addiction. Though Suboxone is better than Methadone many unlucky individuals find themselves addicted to Suboxone as well. Heroin treatment centers have implemented all types of medical protocols only to find that long term drug rehab is the most effective type of treatment available for heroin addiction.

Regardless of the addiction remember there is never a quick a fix. Getting to the root problem first is vital and then teaching a person how to live life without artificial substances is the next step. Though opiate addiction can sometimes seem almost impossible to overcome, remember you can do it. The mind is a powerful tool and we can overcome any obstacle we put our mind to.

Drug And Alcohol Intervention

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Not to often do you find an addicted person ask for help in finding a drug rehab center. That is the reason for a drug intervention. Whether a family is ready to confront their loved one with a solution to their addiction or not, just by researching this on the internet shows you are ready to make this move. A drug addiction treatment center is the most important thing for people who have a loved one addicted to drugs or alcohol.

Drug and alcohol interventions are very effective if done the proper way. Having the family willing to do this is the most important and always the first step. Once the family is 100 percent willing than calling the intervention company is the next step. The intervention specialist will then go over what steps need to be taken to have the most successful intervention as possible. Once everyone the family and the intervention specialist are all on the same page the interventionist will fly out to meet with the family. The meeting before the actual intervention is usually called “family day.” Usually the day before the actual intervention, family day, is vital to having a successful intervention.

During family day, the intervention specialist will educate everyone involved about enabling, tough love, addiction, drug rehab programs, and most important getting the family strong enough to sit down and with so much intention and love, get the addicted individual to finally accept help. I understand how bleak the outlook is but 90 percent of the time the person struggling with alcohol or drugs will accept the help and chooses to go into a residential drug rehab. The best situation of course is a person to enter into long term drug rehab but the first step is just getting him or her to go.

Exclusive Drug Rehab

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Business professionals have had a hard time finding drug and alcohol treatment in an environment that is conducive to their normal living environment. Many of the residential drug rehabs sometimes do not offer a setting for a person who can potentially still work and keep their job or business running. Certainly they need to focus on their current problem which is the addiction problem but at the same time we don’t want the addicted individual to leave a drug rehab center with no job or in a financial crisis which could cause relapse or unnecessary stress.

Executive drug rehabs are an important process to ending addiction for thousands of people suffering from alcohol and drugs. Many white collar employees have not only important well paying jobs but families to provide for. The stress of work and making enough money to support a family is stressful enough, especially in this type of economy. So it is very common for a business person to start drinking or dabble with various prescription drugs like painkillers, anti-anxiety medications, muscle relaxers, and anti-depressants.

Unfortunately many of these prescription drugs are very addicting. Especially when mixed with a cocktail, beer or wine, these drugs can really make a person numb and provide an escape to not face reality. This is how this type of addiction works. Many executive clients of private drug rehabs were fully functional alcoholics or addict. They would work, pay the bills, and take care of the family. This is why its so hard to get this person to agree to enter in a long term drug rehab.

Long Term Drug Treatment

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Long term drug and alcohol rehabs have become very popular because of the increase in success rate regarding treatment. Though many people don’t usually enter into a longer termed program first, it is still the one type of treatment that produces success in recovery. Unfortunately when an addicted individual who finally asks for help will only agree to go into a 28 or 30 day drug rehab, they usually will end up relapsing and falling victim to this addiction of drugs and alcohol.

A family who is researching a drug rehab program for a loved one who is suffering from drug or alcohol addiction, remember, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Don’t settle for just a detox which consists of medical treatment for 1-2 weeks. Even a 28 or 30 day program is not enough only offering a 2-12 percent success rate. If the addicted individual is being stubborn about going into a long term drug rehab than don’t just give in, remain firm. Keep with your original plan in getting them to enter into a long term drug rehab.

You must capitalize during this crucial time and remember you know best. If the addicted individual after much talking to still does not want help than consider doing an intervention. A drug or alcohol intervention can be used to convince a person into entering some type of long term drug treatment. A drug intervention can help bring the family together and escort the person into the long term residential rehab program.
