Rarely does an alcoholic or drug addict enter into a residential treatment facility excited. Most addicts and alcoholics have run out of ways to afford their habit and see no other option so finally accept help. Usually families have cut them off financially, emotionally, and given them two options, life or drugs? Most people once they have exhausted all resources and manipulated everyone they know and finally now cut off, they ask for help. Once this occurs you need to move quickly and get them into a drug rehab facility and its best to find a center out of state.

When trying to find the most effective form of treatment ask the addiction counselor who works at the rehab facility. If a person is addicted to cocaine or heroin try to find an effective program that specializes in cocaine treatment or heroin treatment.

Cocaine Treatment

According to recent medical journals, cocaine addiction treatment is most effective in a long term setting that provides intensive aftercare. For treatment to be effective the individual addicted to cocaine must be willing to get help or at least recognize there is a problem. This can be achieved through a drug intervention. After a successful drug intervention the individual addicted to cocaine will realize how life is getting worse and will want to change this condition. Once the person is escorted into a cocaine drug rehab, the treatment process then begins. Usually cocaine treatment is most effective in a bio-physical drug rehab that also implements counseling and life skills therapy.

Certainly the treatment of cocaine addiction does not have the dynamics as heroin addiction, it still requires intensive counseling. Cocaine is very dangerous in terms of heart problems and brain damage. Also the use of cocaine eliminates many of the essential vitamins and minerals in the body which are vital for brain function. Unlike heroin addiction, the detox of cocaine is more mental. A person will experience extreme depression, anxiety, and a need for large amounts of sleep.

The most effective way of addressing cocaine addiction is finding a treatment center that is residential. A cocaine addiction treatment center should provide a medical drug-free detox, sauna detoxification, counseling and life skills therapy. Our addiction counselors help thousands of people find cocaine treatment throughout the US.
