Quality Alcohol and Drug Treatment

Friday, April 29th, 2011

So many people never find the right rehab alcohol and drug treatment program. Sometimes people think that it should be something that is a quick fix or a pill that will cure you. This is not true. For a person to overcome alcoholism or drug addiction, hard work and dedication is the key. If you look at it like you have spent years learning poor behavior and not making good decisions, then you have to learn a new life style which takes time not only learning these things but also applying them.

So now that you understand what you should look for lets get more specific in what type of addiction treatment program offers quality rehabilitation.  Our research has found that long-term drug rehabs offer the highest success rate. Also, holistic and drug free programs seem to deal with the actual program and not just mask it. Replacement drug therapy masks the problem and doesn’t allow the addict or alcoholic deal with his or her issues

Once you have found some longer termed programs which seem to fit your needs and wants, then you should look at the finances and whether they take insurance or not. Free or government rehabs are usually not a good idea, but you can find an affordable program that offers payment plans and works with various types of insurance companies. Hope this helps in your quest to find a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

Alcohol Detox and Drug Treatment

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

I guess when you’re in the thick of alcohol drug addiction, you can’t see what everyone around you sees. This is the only way I can rationalize what happened to my best friend. She and I grew up together. Always at the top of our class with straight A’s, we went to the same college so we could be near each other. Within 2 years she was in a pretty serious relationship with a guy. I didn’t like him very much, but Amy seemed to like his charming “bad boy” demure. He was a musician—not a college student, and several years older than us.

She finished school and moved away with him to LA. I knew she was struggling with bills and finding a good job, but I didn’t know she was using drugs until I went to surprise her with a visit and found her alone, passed out in the middle of the day—charming boyfriend nowhere to be seen. She had dabbled with drugs in college, but she now was a full-blown opiate addict. She also drank like a fish.

I can’t blame the entire mess on this destructive relationship. It was my duty (as it is everyone’s duty) to be a friend, and I failed. I grew lazy and embroiled in my own life, so much so that I almost let her lose her battle against substance abuse. Her alcohol addiction was really out of control.

I urge everyone to keep their eyes open. Be aware of your loved ones and their struggles. Lend a hand before it’s too late. Drug treatment solutions exist for those battling drug addiction and alcoholism. Also if a person is an alcoholic than try to find an effective alcohol detox as well.

Alcohol Drug Treatment Help People Nationwide

Alcohol Drug Treatment has helped thousands of people across the country overcome their addiction to alcohol and drugs. What we have noticed is the overwhelming amount of people who have been told false data regarding addiction. Many people think that alcoholism or drug addiction is an incurable disease or that it’s a family disease passed down through genes. This rumor has been dispelled several times scientifically by doctors and physicians and is strictly a theory based on environmental issues. There is truth to this theory but it comes from young people looking at family members and idolizing these drug and alcohol behaviors as “being cool.” The actual cause of addiction is the lack of self esteem, confidence, failures in life, boredom, stress, depression, and a lack of life skills. Usually a person will begin to deal with life problems by using alcohol or drugs then once this has been on going for a few months the physical dependency starts.

The most effective form of treatment for an individual addicted to drugs and alcohol is a residential rehab. Residential drug rehabs offer a treatment program that not only detox’s a person safely but then addresses the underlying issues which cause an individual to turn to drugs and alcohol as a solution. Abusing alcohol and drugs is never a solution but to some act as a way to “escape” or a way to mask depression, anxiety or other social fears. Life skills therapy in a residential setting is the most effective way to teach a person how to manage life. This is vital to an individual’s recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
