How I Beat My Addiction To Cocaine

Trying to overcome my addiction to cocaine seemed impossible at times. I found myself almost a daily user at the age of 21 and also had a serious alcohol problem as well. My family had tried a couple of drug rehab programs but they were local and not long enough. I even went to an addiction counselor who tried using psychotropic medications which made the problem even worse. What I realized is that trying to replace my cocaine and alcohol addiction with another drug prescribed by a doctor only seemed to make it worse. My family and I knew that the best type of drug rehab would be one that got to the underlying issues and then taught me life skills to give me the tools to address any problem that came my way.

I was very fortunate that my mom found a long term drug rehab which addressed all aspects of addiction. Unlike many other drug rehab facilities this type of treatment program helped so that I no longer felt cravings, was able to overcame my depression, and gave me the self confidence so that I was finally able to be happy with who I was and comfortable in my own skin.

The other thing that was a big problem was the lying. When I was abusing drugs I would lie about everything. It got so bad that sometimes I would trick myself and think that I was telling the truth. The drug rehab center that I went to helped me overcome this compulsion of not telling the truth and allowed for me to start over with a clean slate.

Since finishing the inpatient drug rehab I feel great. I feel confident about myself and finally interested in life again. I have so many goals which I lost sight of while on cocaine and alcohol. Now I have a new sense of enthusiasm to achieve my goals that I started working on before I found myself in trouble and I owe it all to the most effective drug rehabilitation treatment in the world.

I have suffered from alcoholism and prescription drug addiction for 15 years. Now that I am clean I have published my story is a book called Constant Cravings: One Man’s True Story of His Struggle With Prescription Drug Addiction. My hope for this book is that it will help addicts and alcoholics and their families as much as writing it helped me.

    It is avaliable at
