Non traditional rehab alternatives certainly are growing in the country and generally offer a higher success rate. I got clean and sober at a non-traditional drug rehab in 2001. I had been involded in traditional 12 programs for years prior to this. This is not meant to bad mouth 12 attempts, but sometimes other options are needed to achieve lasting sobriety. www.stopadddiction.com offers a great little booklet entitled "Guide to Addiction Recovery for a Lifetime" which is free for the asking.
